    Correct Care Recovery Solutions (CCRS) has partnered with the Massachusetts Department of Corrections to comprehensively manage and provide medical and mental health care, forensic mental health evaluation and treatment, substance abuse treatment and dental services to patients at Bridgewater State Hospital.  CCRS is seeking qualified professionals to be part of this innovative program that will deliver care in accordance with a person-centered, trauma-informed recovery/resiliency philosophy.  CCRS’ overall goal is to improve patients’ levels of functioning and wellness for a successful recovery and discharge from the hospital.  CCRS has several exciting employment opportunities based at Bridgewater State Hospital for individuals to work alongside visionary leaders committed to improving public health.  When you work at a CCRS facility, you have an opportunity to make a difference every single day.


    Our Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is charged with the effective management and supervision of the nursing staff and operations of the facility.  In addition, the ADON collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer and other members of the healthcare team to ensure that all patients receive appropriate healthcare services.




    • Graduate of approved nursing school required. Bachelor's in Nursing Required.


    • Minimum of five (5) years nursing experience, including (3) years of supervisory experience in psychiatric settings.
    • Strong knowledge of State regulations/Medicare/Medicaid/Joint Commission guidelines required. 
    • Must be computer literate. Knowledge of EMR required.


    • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of Massachusetts.
    • Specialty nursing certification preferred. Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.


    1. Supervises all nursing staff. Completes performance reviews for direct reports and provides input to evaluation of staff reporting to Nurse Managers or Nurse Supervisors. Performs other supervisory responsibilities typically assumed by a manager including hiring, discipline, termination recommendations, performance improvement plans, and coaching.
    2. Oversees utilization by review of assigned staff and evaluates additional staff needs on a shift-to-shift basis by considering the acuity and census on each residential unit.
    3. Evaluates quality of care through chart audits, patient/staff interviews, interdisciplinary team conferences and patient care rounds. Ensures the implementation of individualized treatment plan and other aspects of patient care.
    4. Acts as a resource to Nurse Managers and Supervisors in addressing patient care issues.
    5. Develops and implements performance improvement surveys to monitor documentation and clinical practice in all residential units and clinic/infirmary.
    6. Collaborates with the Chief Nursing Officer, Nurse Managers, and Nurse Supervisors to ensure that the department is in compliance with Joint Commission, state, federal, and local requirements.
    7. Ensures that nursing care is provided following BSH and CCRS corporate policies and procedures.
    8. Assists in developing and reviewing of departmental policies and procedures.
    9. Participates in hospital-wide employee orientations.
    10. Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, journals, and related material, and by attending seminars, conferences, and so forth.
    11. Provides professional nursing care to patients in response to workload demands and/or staffing shortages.
    12. Chairs and attends meetings as assigned.
    13. Develops processes to ensure the clinical competence of all nursing staff.
    14. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
    15. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
    16. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
    17. Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.
    18. Perform other duties as assigned.
